Andy Nelson
Andy Nelson is a modern day cowboy with a somewhat twisted funny bone! Not a somber poet by any means, his poetry is more befitting the stockyards than the courtyards. His extraordinary original writings combined with his unusual facial expressions and body language leaves audiences holding their sides and trying to catch their collective breath! Andy's poetry delights those with stout hearts and strong bladders!
Always A Cowboy
Andy grew up in the small town of Oakley, Idaho, where he followed his Dad all over the great basin of southern Idaho, northern Nevada and northern Utah learning to shoe horses. The way of the cowboy and farrier was taught to him by one of the last great horsemen, his father Jim. He spent his formative years shoeing horses and working on ranches as a deep sense of heritage and cowboy values were branded on his hide. Cowboy traditions continue to run deep in the Nelson family as Andy and his brother Jim host the syndicated radio show called "Clear Out West" (www.clearoutwest.com) that is dedicated to introducing the cowboy culture to new listeners and bringing back some great memories to old cowboys. Now he lives in Pinedale Wyoming where he spends his spare time announcing rodeos and with his wife Jaclyn, raise horses and children (neither of which make them any money!).
